"PAINTING
AND MUSIC TOGETHER IN GÜZİN TANGÖR'S LIFE… |
| |
"Viloins,
bows, piano and lute, sometimes a wind instrument; besides
all, surely partitions. Every one of them has been
skillfully reflected to canvas. And who knows which tunes do
they connotate? In times when you close your eyes and
explore your inner world, tones of moonlight sonata echoes
in your ears, or Chopin's nocturn, or melodies of frenziness
from Paganini? .. Could it be a "taksim" (improvisation)
from Fahri Kopuz's lute, sprouting the wings of melancholy
between bestenigâr and sâbâ.. |
| |
You may even hear a treble horn echoing from groves of
England, following the hounds.
Sure it will be so, since our painter is the granddaughter
of a very famous lute player, and daughter of a highly
reputed violin virtuoso. Since her ambition - which started
long ago in 1990's - wrapped into line, colour and volume
and composition, sure her brush will be deeply interested in
music. And as in many previous exhibitions of Güzin Tangör..
Never mind fitting in small works as if resting her soul, or
as if exemplifying introverting or the wish of extroverting
by concentrating on doors and locks and surely concentrating
on keys... She is one of those who always and always has
music either on her turntable, or cd player, or radio or in
her mind, or deep in her soul. And moreover she is a painter.
With nearly ten personal exhibitions and almost a double of
that number in mixed exhibitions.. Moreover in a perspective
of thinking on her paintings too, saving it from being a
impersonal still life, within a broad perspective that if
needed ready to be unfolded to an abstract universe.. Yes a
painter and one who evermore and elaborately has something
to say, to declare.." |

"Painter Güzin Tangör during her artistic journey starting from 1992 to date has attracted my attention with her distinct constructive structure, talent in using the colour chroma, enrichening the rhythm phenomenon that is the prerequisite of musical sentence with a narrow space concept proliferated in valeur bounces and her approach on making no concessions in the name of plastic formation." |
